What I Like About Pinterest

Not just another mindless social media tool, alas you can use Pinterest for constructive purposes. Here's how:

1.) It's Great for Visioning
Pinterest is a great tool for creating an electronic vision board. I've used traditional vision boards in the past but I found the physical aspect of it somewhat tedious. What if you didn't want to have your board on display for everyone to see...and sometimes judge? You don't want that kind of energy surrounding your goals. What if things change and ergo your board must change? With Pinterest you can store your board electronically, make changes as necessary, and even keep it secret for your eyes only.

2.) I Want What I Want!

You've heard that refrain from me before. I am also a consummate list-maker. Instead of keeping a list of the things I need on paper or in a journal or file somewhere, I can post them to Pinterest. This has helped me to keep track of items, budget for them, and really hone in on needs versus wants.

3.) Develop Your Style

If you are familiar with Pinterest you will note that there are numerous boards devoted to style  and fashion interests. I only pin to my board things that I could see myself wearing and like things that I find fashionable but wouldn't necessarily wear. I've found that this has really helped me to hone in on how I want to develop my personal style.

4.) Get Your Work Out On

I have found that Pinterest is a great way to collect workouts. If you are looking to work a certain area of your body or muscle group you can many different links to various workouts. This can really shake up your workout routine if you've become bored or plateaued.

Have you discovered Pinterest? How do you use it?

I love Pinterest! I haven't used it as much recently, but I plan to use it more in the upcoming months, especially for designing my vision board and building a wardrobe wish list.
